Erick "E-Dog" Lindgren

Erick Lindgren is part of the next generation of great poker players. He has only been playing professionally for a short time but he has already achieved a great deal of success. Lindgren is a little bit unusual for a player of his generation in that he started playing poker in live games in casinos rather than in online games. However in the last few years he has also joined the world of online poker.

Erick Lindgren grew up in California where like most kids he played a lot of sports. In high school he played both football and basketball but following graduation he had nowhere to play. It was then that he started playing poker seriously, mainly as a way to replace the competition of sports. After high school he attended junior college and it was during this time that he got a job in a casino as a black jack dealer. Soon he decided that a career as a poker player was actually a possibility so he quit school and started playing full time.

Erick Lindgren has followed the same path to the top of the game that most other pros have used. He started out playing for small stakes in a local casino. As he won more and more he started playing for larger stakes and eventually entering a few tournaments. After some success at this the time came to move to the center of the poker world and he was off to Las Vegas. At this point, Erick Lindgren was able to start playing in cash games for higher stakes and in larger tournaments. This was when his career really took off.

Erick Lindgren's biggest successes have come on the World Poker Tour. He has one three different titles on the tour and was the first player to be named player of the year. Of course there have been successes in other tournaments but his biggest successes have been on the tour. Like most other pro players Lindgren actually spends more time playing in cash games in Las Vegas than he does playing in tournaments. For the top players this is where the real money is to be made.

Erick Lindgren has also started to expand his horizons in recent years. He wrote a book on poker strategy that has become quite popular. He has also started to get involved in the world of online poker. In part this is due to the fact that he is now sponsored by one of the major poker sites. Nevertheless like a lot of the professional players he has recognized the opportunities to make money that exist in the world of online poker. There are far more online players than there are in the casinos. That makes it much easier to get a game; it also means that there is a lot more money being bet. Erick Lindgren has not failed to take advantage of the opportunity.
