My favorite online poker rooms

The massive increase in the popularity of poker in recent years has resulted in a huge increase in the number of players playing online. Needless to say this has resulted in a flood of new sites being created to allow people to play. That can make it hard to decide where to play. This is a list of my favourite online poker rooms.

Probably my favorite online poker room is Sportsbook.com. The reasons that I like this site are that they always have games going and you can find one that is appropriate to your bankroll. There are games that range anywhere from $0.01/$0.02 level to the $50/$100 level. They also offer a lot of other games besides hold'em. However probably the biggest reason that I love Sportsbook.com is that most of the other players are not very good. That makes it pretty easy to win.

Poker Stars is another of my favorite online poker rooms. The reason that I love this one is that there are so many other players. You can show up at any time and have a game, there are always new games starting so there is no waiting around. They also offer a number of different games other than hold'em. The only downside of Poker Stars is that the level of competition is a little bit better than at most of the other sites.

The last of my favorite online poker rooms is Bodog.com. The reason that I like to play here is that out of all the sites they have the weakest level of competition. They are primarily known for their sports betting and to a lesser extent their casino. Most of the players in their poker room have come over from one of these places and they don't really have much experience at poker. This makes them fairly easy pickings. The downside of playing at Bodog is that they don't have the same amount of traffic that you will find at the other sites. This means that you may have to wait a little while to get a game going. A nuisance but well worth it to play against the level of competition that they offer.

These are my favorite online poker rooms but obviously I haven't tried them all (and I haven't made millions yet, either). If you have one that you really like that's great enjoy playing there. Everybody will have their own criteria for determining what makes a good room. For me the main things are weak completion and lots of other players so I don't have to wait around for a game. Others may have other reasons for choosing a site. Some sites allow for a better level of social interaction which is important to some people. Some sites allow higher stakes than others. The reason for picking an online poker room are all your own so just pick one that you like.
